Infrastructure Project of the Year

Entry Criteria

From utilities, transport projects, bridges, railways, roads and airports, this category is open to large and small-scale projects – in both footprint, scope and budget. Entries must display a clear understanding of how to apply offsite technology to deliver a sustainable, energy efficient and cost-effective contemporary design.

Particular note will be given to overcoming restrictive and unusual construction sites and working within local planning guidelines and constraints.

Projects must display a clear understanding of how to apply offsite technology and explain how they have displayed innovation and worked collaboratively to help the client achieve its corporate vision whilst demonstrating how cost-predictability, economy, accuracy, transportability, speed of installation, circular economy principles and factory manufacture have been achieved.

Entrant Questions:

  1. Describe how the offsite technology and construction supply chain that you have been engaged with has maximised the potential of offsite methods and employed best practice from early involvement to project delivery.
  2. Explain how the use of offsite technology has provided a major element in the delivery of the final project – e.g. improved and modernised utilities, cost-predictability, long term value, overall building performance, sustainability, energy efficiency and quality of design, speed of installation and building running costs.
  3. How has the project provided a unique and innovative solution when benchmarked against a ‘traditional onsite’ approach – e.g. quality, speed of delivery, installation, planning concerns, social value impact, health and safety and on-going maintenance.
  4. Evidence how the final building/project outcome has been judged by the client and/or awarding public sector body. Did they play a leading role in choosing offsite as a key construction method and would they specify it again?
  5. Give FIVE key reasons why your work and approach are exceptional and should be considered as the best example this year. Can it be seen as a future example for others to follow, has it provided a unique and innovative building solution compared to traditional construction for the client and team members?
