Offsite Pioneer of the Year
Entry Criteria
This award will be given to an individual, company or project team that has made – or is making – a major contribution to raising the profile of offsite construction or using it as a defining feature of its design and build programme in the UK.
This can include using prefabrication and factory-controlled manufacture to overcome site or project-specific challenges, using materials, products and systems in a different way to the ‘norm’, achieving new performance levels, employing digital construction/BIM tools, circular economy principles and innovative thinking and strategies to meet the challenges of designing any type of building.
This also includes those that have taken a pioneering approach to adopting offsite methods and showcasing them to the wider construction industry in the UK and overseas but also those individuals and institutions publicising, teaching and training a new generation of construction entrants to embrace offsite technology in future building design.
Entrant Questions:
- Describe the ways the nominee has championed the offsite industry in the last 12 months or has been central to creating lasting change and innovation within the sector.
- Describe the ways the nominee has made offsite construction and its methodology more visible, appealed to the wider construction community or changed industry mindsets about what offsite methods can deliver.
- Describe how the nominee’s performance, skills or influence has been inspirational, altered perceptions or changed the behaviour and performance of others and left a legacy within the offsite sector and beyond.
- Detail how the nominee has used any specific design, architectural, engineering techniques, problem solving attitudes, digital technology, teaching and training sessions, and original thinking to the improvement of offsite methods/industry.
- Give FIVE key reasons why the nominee has been/is exceptional and should be considered as the best example this year. Can it/they be seen as a future example for others to follow, e.g. innovative thinking, leadership, design, product and system development/application, delivering a lasting change for the future.
