This award will be given to an individual, company or project team that has made – or is making – a major contribution to raising the profile of offsite construction or using it as a defining feature of its design and build programme in the UK. This can include using prefabrication and factory-controlled manufacture to overcome site or project-specific challenges, using materials, products and systems in a different way to the ‘norm’, achieving new performance levels, employing digital construction/BIM tools, circular economy principles and innovative thinking and strategies to meet the challenges of designing any type of building. This also includes those that have taken a pioneering approach to adopting offsite methods and showcasing them to the wider construction industry in the UK and overseas but also those individuals and institutions publicising, teaching and training a new generation of construction entrants to embrace offsite technology in future building design.
