Product Innovation Award
Entry Criteria
A wide ranging category open to a huge range of innovative new products and systems, or older technologies on the market used in a fresh and inventive way.
The entrant must demonstrate the product or emerging technology meets the appropriate UK building regulations, building safety requirements, health and safety standards and is playing an integral role in the offsite construction market.
This can be a physical product designed specifically for offsite technology usage or a general building product that reveals a new dimension when used in conjunction with offsite technology.
Evidence must be provided of where real value has been added to offsite manufacture, installation and factory environment.
Entrant Questions:
- Describe what your product does, design innovation and what site or project-specific challenges the product/component/assembly overcomes and how it has focused clients, building users and wider supply chain on offsite technology.
- Explain how the product/component/assembly has added real value to the offsite supply chain and project development e.g. innovative design and usage, cost savings, accuracy and predictability, speed of installation, digital thinking, environmental impact and where it has clearly demonstrated operational improvements.
- Describe how the product/component/assembly has contributed to advancing the development and reputation of offsite technology and has increased wider market opportunities, including any collaborations with academia/research centres/testing facilities.
- Describe whether your innovative product/component/assembly can – or has been – used/applied elsewhere in the construction sector on other projects or materials. Has it flexible and transferable uses?
- Give FIVE key reasons why your product/component/assembly is exceptional and should be considered as the best example this year. Has it been tested, trialled and proven to be ‘fit for purpose’ across the offsite and construction landscape. Has it provided a unique and innovative solution to a specific problem or concern?
